Diggers spotted at Playgroup!

2016-05-04

Thanks to an £180,000 grant from Oxfordshire County Council, Donnington Playgroup is embarking on an exciting extension project. The extension will increase the number of places we can offer to children in the area, and improve the facilities for all children at our pre-school.

Building got underway this week, but the pre-school will remain open as usual during the summer term. Although the pre-school's outdoor space will soon be under construction, staff have lots of creative and fun ideas to give the children plenty of outdoor time as the weather improves.

The funding is part of the county's capital development programme to enable more parents in Oxford to access funded pre-school places for 2 year olds. Donnington Doorstep director Beth Knighton says: "We are really looking forward to opening this new extension in the autumn, it's a much-needed addition to provision in this area." Watch this space for updates as the building project continues, and our thanks to the council for the funding, and to Original Field of Architecture who designed the extension.

There is always laughter, happiness and mischief, there are things you would not expect, there are opportunities, there is grown up conversation, there are people to hold your little ones whilst you play with your older ones, there is mess and buttering, learning and exploring, riding and reading.
